If you’ve got something of a green thumb and are always looking out for new ways to indulge in your hobby, then you’ve simply got to catch the new gardening series being fronted by none other than comedian Miranda Hart.

The star, known for her turns in Miranda and Call the Midwife, will be hitting our TV screens for new show Down the Garden Path, which also stars her mother Dee Dyke Hart, the Sun reports.

Shown on More4, the series will see Dee – who’s a real gardening expert, apparently – help people grow their own gardens to perfection, as well as paying celebrity homes a visit to give them advice on how they can get the best out of their gardens as well.

Commenting on the news, Miranda said: “I may not know a thing about how to garden but my mum is amazing. She fills me with immense joy and laughter as she talks about her passion. The innuendos in gardening never seem to stop.”

Gardening shows are a brilliant way of learning more about plants and flowers, so perhaps add a few to the list of programmes to watch. There’s also Gardeners’ World, a show stuffed full of tips, good ideas, expert advice and suggestions on how to make the most of the garden you have, no matter whether it’s big or small.

Or you could check out Shed of the Year which, while not strictly a gardening show, is sure to give you all sorts of great ideas for transforming your outdoor spaces.
