Garden Inspiration From The Chelsea Flower Show

This is a great time of year to pick up some inspiration for your outdoor space. The Chelsea Flower Show has just been and gone, and we still have the Hampton Court Flower Show to come. Homes & Property picked out some of the top design features that you might want to try and incorporate into your outdoor space if you’re revamping it this summer. One top idea, particularly if you don’t have a huge garden, is to have a greenhouse that also doubles as a wellness space. Including a comfy chair and space to sit, as well as a potting bench and other spaces for your greenhouse plants means you can enjoy this space when you’re not getting your hands dirty. Hanging chairs are another garden feature that have become incredibly popular, appearing in many of...

Gardening Trends To Try From Chelsea Flower Show

The Chelsea Flower Show is always a colourful affair and if you’re thinking of revamping your garden, whether that’s planting some new blooms or getting some help with landscaping in Lancashire, it’s a great place to look for inspiration. Country Living recently picked out some of the top trends to come out of this year’s event, so take a look and see whether any of them will work in your outdoor space. At the top of the list is the use of wildflowers, as demonstrated in Mark Gregory’s Welcome to Yorkshire garden. So, what are the top trends for our outdoor spaces this summer? Perhaps unsurprisingly, creating a haven for wildlife is at the top of the list. This can include everything from leaving one area of...

More Than Half Of Brits Admit To Poor Gardening Skills

Many homeowners in the UK love the look of a neat garden with manicured lawns, pretty flowers, and stylish outdoor features. However, few can create their ideal garden themselves, with more than half admitting to having poo r or no gardening skills. According to recent research from gardening centre Dobbies, 57 per cent of Brits admit they are not very good at, or know very little about, gardening. In fact, so many lack confidence when it comes to looking after their outdoor spaces that one in 20 are embarrassed by their gardens, Ideal Home reported. The area where gardening know-how is the lowest is Chelmsford in Kent where just three per cent of residents think they are good gardeners. This is compared with Coventry, where gardening confidence is at its highest, and 37 per cent of locals...

Prepare To Feel Inspired With National Gardening Week

The sunny Easter weekend got most of us excited about spending the next few months in our garden, enjoying the scenery and the fresh open air. However, if your garden has been neglected over the winter months, you might need a bit of inspiration to get it looking its best again. National Gardening Week could be just the thing to spur you into action and start consulting landscaping professionals in Lancashire to spruce up your outdoor space. Taking place between April 29th and May 5th, National Gardening Week celebrates gardening as a hobby, the beauty of greenery, and the rich vegetation that be grown and eaten. “It inspired more people, particularly the next generation of gardeners, to experience the joy of growing and visiting beautiful green spaces,” a spokesperson for the campaign stated.
